Replaced Edge 1000 and Multiple Accounts

My old 1000 died and Garmin sent me a new one under warranty (thanks!). I have two Garmin accounts. My wife and I ride a tandem and I also do a lot of single riding, so I have one for our tandem rides, and one for ALL of my riding (tandem and single). With the old 1000, I had it connected to my phone via bluetooth and would upload rides to my single account that way, and then to my tandem account via Garmin Express when I hooked the unit up to my PC. I would delete my single rides after they were uploaded to my single account via bluetooth so they would not show on the tandem account when I synced with Express.

When I got the new 1000, I paired it with my phone and thought it would work the same. I got back from a ride and when I saved it on the 1000 and loaded up Garmin Connect on my phone. It seemed that it was uploading the ride (showed the green bar), but it wasn't showing me the summary when the upload was complete, which it usualaly does. I could not understand why it didn't seem to be syncing. Turns out, it was syncing, but with the wrong account. Even though my phone is logged into my single account, it was uploading the ride to my tandem account. This may be because I set the new 1000 up first on my PC through Garmin Express. But I am not sure how to fix this and make it work like my old 1000 did.

Any suggestions?
