Insight recommendation

A few days ago I had the following recommendation on the Insight Widget
[quote="Garmin Connect"]Of people the same age and gender as you, 35% are getting more steps per day than you. To move yourself up to the head of the pack and reap more health benefits, try adding in a 10-minute walking break each day.

Considering the fact that I log on average 200 km / 8 h of cycling and 4 km / 2 h of swimming per week on the same application, I find this text slightly condescending.

Just sayin'

Integration of the various data sets in general is bad. E.g. I sometimes use the Vìvofit to log pulse data over an extended period (to find things like resting heart rate). This of course racks up considerable amounts of burned calories that more or less are just due to base metabolism. In the end these calories end up being counted twice in the total calories balance.
I also haven't quite figured out why there is such a huge difference in calorie count for recorded walking activities on the Vìvofit vs. the same steps counted independent of logged activity. Dodgy.
  • Agreed!

I agree that I'd like to see age/gender comparisons of ALL logged activities not just walking. Comparison of Intensity Minutes would be useful, and even better if it included an "estimate" of Swimming Intensity minutes based on distance swam during the time (since my VivoActive doesn't record HR during swim) instead of ZERO!

I have started to time swimming activities with the vivofit, then enter the activity manually and deleting the original log. That way you get a calorie estimate based on the time spent. Still no consideration of speed (swimming the same distance at a faster pace logs less calories, instead of more), but better than the two or three steps the vivofit logs per km swum.
