13 miles missing from my ride in Garmin Connect but there when synced to Strava?

I did a ride yesterday of 28.5miles. My Garmin connect and my edge 500 reported it as being 16.13 miles, but when it synced to my Strava account it shows the correct distance and speeds. Does anyone have any idea why this error has occurred and how I might fix it? I don't know if it's relevant but I recently replaced the battery on my speed/cadenc sensor (rsc 10).
Did you pause it after 13 miles. There seems to be an issue after a pause/restart where it's only acknowledging the miles after the restart. If you did see my thread here:
