Activity Split Screen

I have had a Garmin Vivosmart HR for about 8 months. Recently the split screen function for activities has stopped working. I have set it up again in Garmin connect. I have updated the software. I have synced it on Garmin express. Garmin connect tells me it should work but the Vivosmart only shows the single screens when you start an activity.
