Fenix 3 Annoying "feature"

Hi,

My Fenix 3 has just started doing this and its annoying. Obviously I've turned something on but i have no idea what.

When I am out for a run, whether it be a pre planned workout or just a run it stays on my preferred data screen MOST of the time but regularly during the run it flashes up a blank screen titled COURSE and stays there for quite a while. I can push buttons to go back to my preferred screen but i would just like the watch to NOT do that!

Any advice would be appreciated, its becoming annoying enough to ditch the watch when im running now as every time i try to look at it its a blank black screen with the word COURSE at the top

This post may be better on the Fenix 3 forum, as it will get seen by more people who may have had similar experiences. From my near on year and a half of Fenix 3 ownership, I've not seen that behaviour and it does not sound normal at all. If you've done all of the software updates and it's still happening, then next step would be to do a master reset of the watch Menu>Settings>System>Restore Defaults or one of the hard reset methods https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?227684-Hard-reset-Service-menu-Data-Backup (I know it's a pain as you loose all of your settings, but often the only way to clear an odd issue like this). If all that fails, then phone Garmin Customer Services in your country (for a hardware issue like this I'd say call them rather than email).
