Every-time there is a new app update the day of steps is erased or don't count.I cannot confirm or deny that is happens, but I haven't seen it happen myself, in spite of using Garmin Connect Mobile app for iOS from time to time. After all, once the step data has been ‘synced’ – retrieved from your Garmin device and then uploaded to the cloud-based Garmin Connect service over the iOS device's Internet connection – nothing you do to the app would erase what's already on record in the ‘source-of-truth’ repository.
