Garmin vivosmart HR - language and smartphone connectivity issues

Hi everyone - I'm new to the world of activity trackers - please forgive me if I'm posting questions in the wrong place.

I have two issues:-

1) I accidently selected French as my chosen language. How do I change it back to English please?

2) According to the Bluetooth on my phone, the device is paired. I have installed the Garmin Connect app, located the device, entered weight/activity etc but the device can't be found.

Any help appreciated.
