Overriding tunnels when creating a course

I am trying to create a cycle course that involves going through a tunnel but Connect seems to
signal that I can't cycle through the tunnel, even though I know I can, and takes me on a hilly
10 mile detour.

How do I override this when creating a course.

Create your course to the tunnel entrance - uncheck the "Stay on Roads" option in the right hand panel - click on the road where it exits the tunnel - check the "Stay on Roads" option and continue planning you route as before.
