Time format issue

For some reason after a garmin connect update my fenix 3 changed to 12 instead of 24 hour, went into garmin connect to change it back however it is saying that this can now only be changed in my phone settings however my phone is in 24 hour but everytime I sync with connect it changes my watch back to 12 hour. Anyone else having this issue?
