Completed activity vs planned activity

Hi,

I just started to use my Garmin Fenix 3 HR and created a (running) training plan in Garmin Connect. The training plan shows all the planned activities in the future. Yesterday I did my first actual activity according to the plan. I went into Training -> My Training found the planned activity of the day and started it. The session went as expected showing me the HR zones and warned me when I got out of the planned zones.

But after my run, I now see two activities in my calendar. The planned one and the actual one (see inserted screenshot). Is this intended? I would have expected to only see the planned activity but now marked as completed somehow.

If I look in the calendar in my watch, the activity from yesterday is still there but now with an exclamation mark - like if I'm overdue with the activity.

So to sum up my questions:

- Is the planned activity supposed to be marked as completed after my actual run, or is there supposed to be two sessions in my calender as in the screenshot?

- If the planned session was meant to be marked as completed, is there a way to link the planned and actual activity?

Note: I'm not sure I use the correct terms for "activity", "session" etc. as I use the system in Danish language.
  • Is this intended?
I cannot answer that question, but all I can say is that's the way it is.

I would have expected to only see the planned activity but now marked as completed somehow.
That alludes to a change of status for a single data entity/record, which is not what happens. A new data entity is created when you capture and upload a timed activity, and there is no way I know of that will allow you to signify the planned activity and the completed activity represents the same idea in different stages of its ‘lifecycle’.

Thanks for your answer. I'm just used to use the Endomondo app. From that I'm used to the planned activity to change status to completed - which makes a lot of sense to me. Now I'll just get used to something else :)
