Exporting to Google Earth from GC

I use my device to record tracks (i.e. see where I got lost) when mountain biking.

Since about a month ago (beginning of July), the kml files made when exporting to Google Earth are different (worse) than before:
1. Lower resolution, which leads to straight awkward lines instead of "flowing" curves (looks awful on GE!)
2. The kml file includes some 0's (lat=0, lon=0 - I guess due to poor sat reception or some nav error...) which makes the starting viewpoint in GE out of proportion. I imagine that before July GC would filter these out before exporting.
3. Simple placemark with only the activity name, instead of the whole activity description (distance, elevation gain, etc.), including hyperlink to GC.
4. An ungly red X where the "start" placemark used to be, and no "end" placemark.
5. No place to link YouTube videos.

I don't see anything good with the change, so why change?
Anyone knows how to change it back?
Any suggestions?

Thanks!
  • I have the same experience!

I hike every weekend and export my Garmin data to Google Earth to view the route (and, over time, slowly hike all the trails in various parks). In the last few weeks, I've seen exactly the same issues:
    • Most assuredly the resolution in Google Earth export is less than before
    • 0,0 lat/long values are used in creating the viewbox in Google Earth, making it zoom far out to try to capture the whole "route"
    • The date and summary data have been dropped, both of which were useful. . .

Please fix! If you want to drop something, drop the track points (which I don't think are useful at all in Google Earth).
