Vivosmart HR not connecting after update

I bought a vivosmart HR garmin watch in February. It's connected fine every time I wanted to sync data to my iphone 5 via the connect application. About a week ago my watch started telling me I had an update. After I updated the watch, it will no longer connect to my phone. I have tried EVERYTHING. I have uninstalled the application, checked for ios updates, even wiped the data from my watch itself. Still a no-go. Any idea on why I can't pair my device anymore? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
