Elev Corrections 'Enabled' When They Should be 'Disabled'

For about a couple of months now, for all outdoor (GPS on) activities recorded on my Fenix 3, Garmin Connect has decided to apply Elev Corrections - Enabled. It never did this before (over the past 2.5 years of Fenix 2 and Fenix 3 ownership) and the little pop-up notes in GC clearly state that Elevation Corrections should disabled by default for devices with a barometric altimeter (which the Fenix 3 has). I know that it's a simple task to switch back to 'Disabled' Elev Corrections, but apart from being an annoyance to do, that only updates the summary elevation data (elev gain, elev loss, min elev and max elev), the elevation graph remains at the 'Corrected' elevations. I can see this as I use a foot bridge over a major road and the corrected elevation plot reflects ground level and not the up and down of the foot bridge - whereas the barometric elevation data the watch records on the .fit file tracks the elevation profile of the foot bridge perfectly (the pictures below help illustrate the point).

As an extra note, Garmin Connect is correctly recognising my Fenix 3 and it's software version. I reported this to the Fenix 3 beta software team email some time ago, but I know from past issues similar to this (such as Garmin Connect seeing the Fenix 3 as 'Rubber Ducky' etc.) that they have stated on the forum that they can only do so much to 'prod' the Garmin Connect team to sort these issues out.

Is anyone else still having this problem and, if so, has anyone had any joy going through the Garmin Customer Service process to get a resolution?

I have the same problem (since April) and wrote to [email protected] two weeks ago. At first they requested some screen shots, then told me that they are aware of this issue and would contact me if they needed more information. Nothing happend since. :(

Btw., the Fenix 3 with this problem are probably not _fully_ recognized by Garmin Connect. The activities show the correct model and software version, but in your profile your "device" is most likely marked to be "unknown":

But as you can see in my screen shots, GC is correctly recognising my F3, but is still applying Elev Corrections. So it's potentially not linked to that issue (which I have also experienced in the past). It just seems that every time they update the device database in GC they mess up existing functionality; it's becoming a little tiresome :(

Please look on your profile page ( https://connect.garmin.com/modern/profile/Crispin_Ellisdon ), like on the screen shot I added in my posting.
• Good spot @TH3ORETIKER (see mine below); I've only ever looked at the device details shown in the activity on GC (can't remember the last time I looked at my own profile page). Still, it's clearly some corruption of the database of device IDs held by Garmin and how each individual device should be treated by GC; they just keep messing it up!

Fenix1 but with the same problem.
GC recognizes the device but applies Elev. corrections. Annoying...
• I have since a long time a ticket raised to Garmin Connect team regarding this issue (7920131 ). The last I heard from them (2 weeks ago) is that they said that they had resolved the issue and had closed it.
I screamed since it still doesn't work and now I haven't heard from them again.
Its time to make a new reminder again...

I haven't had height diagrams in Connect since beginning of January working, luckily they work in Strava.

@Crispin: Even if you disable Height correction only the summary data change, the diagram still comes from the connect database, not from the unit. (At least for me) This is very obvious if you as an example run over a tall bridge, where connect will place you on the water surface, but the unit will have the height where you actually were.

The Garmin connect team seems to be a big amateur team, I don't think Garmin understand how important the ecosystem is for the units to work...
I also still have totally incorrect diagrams for the Lactate Threshold, but no one seems to care...
• A new support ticket submitted today. I'll also raise this with the Fenix 3 public beta dev team if I don't get a sensible response from Garmin CS within a reasonable timeframe.

Have you learned anything new?
• Nope; only that my support request ticket has had a stiff ignoring by Garmin CS thus far :(

Edit: Finally had some communication with Garmin CS late in August, with some limited follow up. They asked me to remove and then re-add my F3 to Garmin Connect, which didn't fix the problem. I'm still waiting back for a further reply.
• Same issue here, since 5 months already (using F3) - I posted it in two other threads as well.
Back in April I raised a ticket at Garmin Support (Reference ID: 7744826). End of May got a short response from them that 'my question' is submitted to the development team. Since that time I have heard nothing from them (3.5 months!) and sent a friendly reminder today.
Additionally, as recommended by others, I sent an email to the Beta Team ([email protected]) today.
Let's see, let's hope...

@ TH3ORETIKER:
I fully understand what you mean with the 'unknown' device on the Profile screen. My problem is however that I don't see it in my Profile at all - no device related information on the left part of the screen, as on your screenshot (see my screenshot attached). I see device related information only on the Activity screen and on the Device Settings screen (and in my case both are correct as of today). Any idea?
