Multiple Devices on Garmin Connect

I wonder how data are handled when there are more than one device on Garmin Connect. I have a Forerunner 235 and I want to buy Viviosmart HR and use them alternatively. I wonder if the data from 2 devices combine on the app or there are kept separately. Thank you.
  • You can only nominate a single device as the 24×7 activity tracker for a given Garmin Connect user account. You can manually change which device it is – from the FR235 to the VSHR and vice versa – but if you do so in the middle of the day, there may be issues with continuity in counting steps, etc.

Timed activities recorded by multiple devices registered to your account are aggregated (but remain logically separate events), so that works fine if you wear the devices alternately as opposed to simultaneously for that purpose.
  • To summarize, if you intend to switch trackers, do it first thing in the morning.

The easier thing to do is to use your FR235 for activities and the VSHR as your tracker.

The downside is that you need to wear both for activities.

Thank you both for responses. It seems that switching between trackers is not a smooth function. Does anybody know if Garmin is going to address this?
