Public activity not ranked within segment

1. Activity is found within segment because my time is listed as "Your Best Time" on segment page.
2. Activity is public.
3. Problem1: I am not ranked.
4. Problem2: On segment list a lock is displayed with notice: "Only public activities can be ranked"
Anyone knows what is wrong here?
@Garmin: any ideas or a bug?

I have had this issue and many similar ones with Garmin Segments. The bottom line is that they don't work very well!

Can you see any segment performance data for you or anybody else that is more than 12 months old? I can't!

Garmin Support say they are working on it.

It may be that your activity is not ranked after one year within particular segment(?).
Still it would be not fair if they dropped you from 1st place cause it was longer than 1y ago.

My activity which I described adding this thread was from few days ago so it's different issue.

My example about data more than 12 months old was just an illustration of the generally erratic behaviour of GC segments.
I have also experienced the issue you describe and host of others.
Sometimes deleting an activity and then uploading it again will clear the locked flag - check that you have a copy of the activity elsewhere before deleting from GC!

Is it because of 12 months? Any news from Garmin?

The activity would not show on the leaderboard if the activity was done more than one year prior to the segments creation. There is some more information on why an activity might not show on a leaderboard in this FAQ.
