Vivoactive HR automatically saving data. Why?

Just picked up the Vivoactive HR. Love it! However, after working great on my swim and my run, I used it on my bike today and when I stopped for a rest I tapped the lower right button to stop/pause my ride and after about 30 seconds it gave me an HR Recovery reading and then automatically saved my ride. I still had about 15 miles to go so my ride got broke up into two parts. Not a catastrophe but I'd like the ride to be one single data record. What did I do wrong? Do I need to do something elses to pause my ride and then restart it later after a rest? Thanks!

Maybe you inadvertently touched the screen to save the ride? Locking the screen might help avoid this.

I honestly don't think I touched it, but can you tell me how to lock the screen? Thanks!

I just experienced this situation and found out this from user's manual.
"If you do not save the activity manually, the device automatically saves it after 25 minutes."

Bottom line. Worst of all, there is no option to disable this auto-save function.

Not sure about Vivoactive HR, but on my watch I can pause an Activity, select the option "Resume Later", and resuming it hours (or even days) later, with no auto-save happening in the meantime.
