Any way to get rid of duplicated Personal Records entries?
In fact I have 3 items in my 5 km run (?) which two of them are dups of each other.
Still they are outdated not sure why displayed.
This looks like a bug in GC

  • I've got the same issue. Did you ever find a solution.

This made me think of "Wisdom of the Ancient"

  • Where does this table come from? It looks neither like the Personal Records chart on the GCM app, nor like the page on the web. Could you post a screenshot of Personal Records Running page from GC Web?

  • I have (or more precisely my wife has) the same sort of duplicate records. Not the records themselves, but the notification about new records. Both in cycling and running when she gets a new record GCM shows two entries for those items, one which shows the true previous and new records, and one which shows properly the new record, but it says that there was no previous record.

Certainly she has only one GC account, and she uses when running only  one Venu 2, she does not use other sensors apart from a HR strap, so no chance for duplicated activities.

Amd again, not all the personal records are duplicated in the list, only those which are impacted by a new record to be approved or denied.

Do you have any idea why there are these ghost entries?

  • Accept or decline them and they should disappear. Currently you can only do that in the web.

  • Nope. It happens always. Sure it disappears, but it happened the same a couple of days ago, so it is not a one-off bug, but a regular event

And for me it never happened.

On the other hand I could accept it on behalf of my better half on GCM IOS, I did not have to use GC web.

EDIT: and still I have no clue why some account is impacted and why some not.

  • Just an idea for those who knows better when excatly and how exactly personal records are calculated:

can it happen that if somebody uses both BT sync and wifi sync and both methods uploads succesfully the same activity to the GC cloud and even if one of them are not stored there because an algorithm detects that it would create a duplication, but during the process the personal records are checked and detected twice?

It would explain the recent duplications….

  • Just an idea for those who knows better when excatly and how exactly personal records are calculated:

Personal Records are only being detected in real-time, during the activity, by the watch self. It means before the syncing.

However, I cannot tell whether syncing simultaneously by WiFi and by BT could cause the duplicate. It is possible. I recommend reporting it to the Support, although I doubt that fixing it will get any high priority, since it is really just a minor cosmetic issue, concerning probably only few users.
