Cant Create Segment from Manual Imported .gpx file ?

writing this again because my post didnt show up.

when i manually import a gpx file im not able to create a new segment from it. why?
im able to see the track on the map however there is no button or option below the map for "create new segment"

whats going on ? is this not possible ?

The "+ Create Segment" link only appears after you have selected the "Segments" tab. (to the right of "Stats" and "Splits", below the graphs)

Thanks for trying to help me but there is not a segments tab to the right of stats and splits... thats my problem. The option is not available / not showing up.

I've never connected a device to garmin connect.could this be it?

Just moving all of my trail segments over to this program as I wait for my Garmin epix to arrive on Monday.

Why is the create segment option not showing up?

I think that segments are only available in activities "run" and "cycle" (and their subsets). If your trail activities are classified as "hike", I think segments will not be available.

I had them labeled as "other".
Changed to cycling label .. and now the segment option shows up.
