Custom Workout - help

I am trying to create a custom workout, or at least see if it is possible to do this, but can't figure it out.

Essentially, what I want to happen is every time I press the lap button I get a 30 second recovery period. This would be used for a variety of workouts over a number of distances with different repetitions, so I'm unsure if it is possible to create one like this.

I could create separate workouts with different repeats for each one, but the trouble is I don't know how many reps I am going to do before hand (take track for example - one week our coach may have us doing 4x400m with 30s between each, and other weeks it might be 3x300m then 3x400m then 3x300m).

Is what I am after possible?

    Then it isn't a defined custom workout that you can pre-program. A custom workout is not a more generalised training approach, practice[/i] or method; it is specific. If your coach is going to tell you to do a different workout every week, then the thing to do is to create a different workout every week for the Garmin device to administer, instead of aiming for user convenience and economy of (technical set-up) effort. If you only know ten minutes beforehand, then you have ten minutes to create the workout on your Internet-connected mobile device in its browser using Garmin Connect online, then transfer the workout to your watch.
