Multiple Garmin accounts for same e-mail address cross-linked

I created a Garmin account for my Edge Touring, forgetting that I had an existing account from way back for a Garmin Geko.

These accounts now appear to be cross linked in ways that causes problems for Garmin Connect and this forum. The accounts differ in display name (cpns vs Clifford Slocombe) and password, but have the same email address. I have noticed at least two issues:

1) Courses I create and save in the newer account do not appear on my list of courses, but if I switch to the old account the courses are there!
2) I cannot access this forum for posting through either account because the account verification activation code is rejected as invalid.

I have had to create third account (this one) with a different email address to get things working correctly, but I have data on the old cross-linked accounts that I would rather keep.

Can this be fixed?

    I have instead logged in using my Google account (that's four accounts now) and this seems to solve my problem - all my ride data appears (somewhat spookily, but I sold my soul to Google already when I bought a Chromebook) and routes I create in Connect appear correctly.

    All my other accounts will be abandoned - there is no real way of deleting accounts; Garmin support provide this somewhat clumsy and partial solution.
