Segment Rank

Anyone figure out the trick to get the segment rank feature to work? Using the search tool the last threads about this topic were from last year with no apparent resolution within the thread.

I have segments I have created that it will not rank me. I don't think it is my privacy settings as I have things wide open for now to test it. On some of my routine rides I cross multiple segments and my Edge 1000 tracks me on them (or it appears to) but GC will only show rank for the first segment crossed on any one ride.

Segment rank display is still a bit of a mess. These are some of the work arounds that will (sometimes) get some segment data to show up! Note, however, that many users, including me, cannot see segment performance data that is more than 12 months old even if we can still see the segment listed.

Work arounds:

1. If the segment was created by you, edit it slightly (move the start or end point a few metres). This will often start a re-scan for data.

2. If you did not create the segment, create a new segment covering approx the same route section (not a good strategy as the end result will be lots of duplicate or very similar segments)

2. Find an old activity that crossed the segment within the last 12 months and delete it. Then re-upload it (check you have a local copy of the fit file before you delete the one in Garmin Connect.)

3. Repeat the segment in a new activity.

If you can't see segment performance data (neither yours nor anyone else's) please tell the support people at Garmin as this needs to be fixed!
