Connect underestimating calories for last few days.

I have been having an issue with Garmin underestimating calories by quite a bit here recently. IE, today I did deadlifts & squats for 45 minutes, then I did a 27 minute cardio session, 3 mph walking incline, which recorded that I burned 225 calories.. However Garmin Connect claims I only burned a total of 357 calories for the entire work out. I normally burn around 500 + with the same workouts. But this time it is saying that my 27 minute incline walk burned more calories than my lifting session of 45 minutes.. Not sure what is happening, but its been the last few days. I did a hard reset, I will test it again tonight when I do a light cardio.

    Similar issue...

I think I am having a similar issue... but I noticed it when looking at the Connect app on my phone. If I go to "My Day" and then "Health Stats", then "Calories" on my phone, there is a list of dates below the graph. By selecting a date, it opens a screen with three "bubbles" showing Resting, Active and Total Calories. Until June 9, the active calories listed by date match the active calories in the "active bubble". From June 9 going forward, the active calories in the bubble for each page are much lower than the active calories listed by date in the prior screen. The active calories listed by date seem much more accurate, but are not the ones being synced across to Connect on my computer.

My Synced workout is considerably lower calories compared to normal. At least 150-200 calories shy. Been that way on my last few work outs, so ya the 9th sounds bout right honestly. I am not worried at all about my daily calorie burn, I am set for 1500 calories a day and only eat back calories burned via Vivosmart & Connect synced with MFP. Which normally comes out to 2000-2300 calories a day and works perfectly to lose 2 lbs per week. Now its all messed up lol...

    Maybe Fixed

Ok, so I did a light 20 minute cardio after a hard reset. It seems that the same workout I did a couple days ago that only gave me like 56 calories as burned gave me 137 this time around. So maybe the hard reset actually fixed the Connect App.

    Nope not fixed....

Yeah, its still underestimating calories. The system is normally nearly right on with my treadmill within 20 calories, its at least 75 calories off from the treadmill now. Also I did little over an hour of chest, back, shoulders & arms today. Normally 450-500 calories... Only 289 calories burned.. No way... I am thinking it may be the HRM. It may be losing connection at times, judging from the graph i see a minute or so its not counting.. So it could be the HRM causing the issue, I dunno.. I just know i cannot go by this product anymore for calorie calculations. Going to have to put it to the side and go old school i guess lol..

    Changed battery in Vivosmart HRM

Changed the battery in hrm and the same workout that gave me less than 300 calories gave me 500 calories burned today.. Seems to be on track now. Battery did not last a year! lol.. All good now it seems!
