Calories goal and integration with MyFitnessPal

Hi,

can you help me (e.g. provide formulas based on weight, height, age and whatever else) with correctly choosing calories goal? I have integration between MyFitnessPal and Garmin Connect and I can see that MyFitnessPal updates calories required for day based on activities recorded from Garmin (both walking and exercises are important parts of active calories burnt).

But when I set goal in MyFitnessPal, I can only provide values manually or use their guide (which seems not to be integrated with Garmin Connect at all). Also, weight measurements from Smart Scale (which, by the way, I think completely misguides me about % fat) are ignored by MFP, so integration is lacking there too.

And their guide is not so good because it asks me for number of times I exercise and how intensive it is, which could be easily checked from my Garmin account. I'm not sure how they calculate all the things behind the scenes. But I think if I have this integration to show me number of calories burnt and update daily requirement of calories based on activities collected by Garmin, I should somehow set my calories differently.

I would like to gain weight but rather muscles than fat. That's why I focus on correct proportions between elements (e.g. 60% carbs, 25% proteins, 15% fat, including no more than 36 g or sugar, which is quite difficult and I'm not sure if exceeding it with fruits and vegetables is okay, as I guess that fructose works differently than glucose but that's the other topic).

So I think when my goal is set to 2800 kcal (based on some other formulas from network), it may be perhaps not a correct thing to eat, let's say, 4300 kcal, if I had activities of 1500 kcal. But I'm not sure. I think there should be more integration between MFP and Garmin Connect.

Anyway, how should I calculate my daily requirement for calories, to properly take into account activities recorded by Garmin Connect? Should I rather provide there only Basal Metabolic Rate, instead of 2800 kcal?

Thanks!
