Unable to export a valid tcx or gpx file

Using the export functionality for my activity:
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/799310730

I've then tried to load the resulting TCX or GPX file into another bit of software but I am getting errors saying the file contains no tracks or missing time information etc.

Since the run clearly has data (I can see the pace, route etc on Garmin Connect) there must be a bug in the exporting that's messing things up.

It's worth noting that it is only affecting this activity - other activities export perfectly.

SOLUTION:
Thanks to Grendelino the "fix" is to export to a FIT file (Using "Export Original") and then upload and/or convert it with other software to a GPX.
  • Same problem here.
Export to Google Earth is also broken, returns an "File not found error : connect.garmin.com/.../811041050
"Saving as course" results in a course with correct name and distance, but completely empty.
  • Yep. Found the same. Especially with older files I wanted to export to strava.
The files were "empty" or at least way too small.

Maybe not for everything but Strava workaround was "export original". They worked.
  • @Grendelino - Perfect! I exported the original FIT file and low and behold the data is available. Clearly there is a problem with the Garmin export for certain activities.

    Progress?

Any progress on this issue? I'm using my Garmin Forerunner as a GPS for work, and I really, really need to export this file. I'm having the same exact problem, with the exported file only being several kb, and not being able to export to Google Earth at all. Only affecting several files, but these are extremely important.
  • Same here, can't export older activities to GPX, results in a damaged file or an error message like File Not Found.
    Exporting the FIT file works.
