Am i effectively being forced to upgrade my browser?
Former Member
Garmin Express is now no longer compatible with my operating system, and it suggests i upgrade. I am still given the old "manual upload" option, but it doesn't actually work: a box with "Your browser does not support drag'n'drop file uploads.... Please use the fallback form below to upload your files like in the olden days" comes up, and i try to upload activities as i have done for years, but after choosing the file and clicking the "upload" button, Garmin just defaults to the https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity-sync screen, and nothing happens. So that's it? - either upgrade my browser or effectively i no longer have the option to upload my activities? Very disappointing: it all worked seamlessly for years before this.
And which browser / version of browser are you using? Safari, chrome, firefox, opera... internet explorer?
Open the browser, click the menu bar https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_menu select the drop down for the application name eg. Safari, then click About <insert name of browser I just opened>
iirc I had a similar problem on snow leopard a while back. Safari hasn't been updated in a long time, I think chrome stopped getting updates unless you're on a 64 bit processor.
Firefox looks like it's still getting updates for 10.6.8 and imo is probably worth your while getting a hold of considering Safari doesn't get security updates anymore on your OS.
