Editing Feature Missing

I usually swim 1700 yards every time I swim, a bit shy of a real mile. But your swim watch does not always detect every lap that I do, or it adds on 25, 50 to what I have actually done. So, it was great to be able to correct those errors on Garmin Connect back to what their values should be. But now, that is impossible. I can't edit anything but the title and the amount of calories I expended. How is that useful to me? Today I swam my regular 1700 yards and the watch recorded 1675. So, I have to be satisfied with that? I'm not. It needs to be fixed back the way it was, so that individuals are capable of correcting the errors of your products, as great as they are. Don't get me wrong, I love the swim watch, but it is not always accurate and Garmin even admits such at the bottom of their web pages. So, BRING BACK THE EDIT FEATURE!

There is an edit facility in the individual Activity window - (the pencil icon at in the line of icons top right) - I see this for walking and cycling but don't swim so I am not certain that it appears for swimming activities! This allows all data to be edited.
  • I have both a Garmin Swim and a 920xt. This happened with both devices. It would miss a swim turn or I'd fuddle around on a turn and stand up. I'd get an extra 25 or not record a 25.

I do scheduled workouts with all sorts of intervals etc. What I would do when I noticed a glitch (most of the time it was not counting a lap instead of adding one) in a specific interval, on my next regroup break I'd simply go to the "Drill" page. Hit start and stop and record a 1 second, 25 lap. OR simply at the end of the swim I'd look at the total and make the correction. There is now way I know of to remove laps.

There is no way to edit swim distance or laps. I too would like to be able to edit an individual lap distance. That would make total sense.

i too used to be able to fully edit a swim activity but this has stopped working. Can someone from Garmin plaease answer how to restore the full edit facility to how it used to be
  • I have the same problem.  I bought the Vivoactive 3 just today.  But now, if this is really still an open problem, it goes right back into the box and back to the vendor.  Can't be true, can it?  Please tell me that there is an easy and convenient way to correct for badly recorded intervals, just delete them or ANYTHING, please!

I gave up and bought a Samsung Smartwatch. You can't correct anything, but you don't need to. It's always accurate.

  • Well, I saw someone delete intervals from a pool swim record with only so much as a swipe to the left or right.  I mean:  How hard can it be?  It is basically to delete a row from a table, then recalc the table, nothing more, nothing less.  How hard is that?  Any intern should be able to get that done.  It can't be that Garmin hasn't figures out a way to do this, can it?  If the Samsung has the same problem, I know that it's not an alternative for me either...

  • Just got some responses from helpful support people.  It actually works and you can edit the data.  It is a bit cumbersome, but it does allow at least some degree of editing the data via the Garmin Connect Web tool and then exporting, editing, downloading and re-importing into the Garmin Connect Web tool again.  The details are here:  https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-mobile-andriod/207320/is-there-a-way-to-delete-or-edit-individual-swimming-intervals-in-any-garmin-app-many-thanks
