Does anyone have any advice for a complete newbie.
I have started by aiming for 7500- 10,00 steps per day. I have no idea how to adjust the goal, as it seems to adjust itself at random.

Also, there is a display number after the number of miles and before the time, I have no idea what this number is?
Also, when I opened the box, there was a belt in the box, whats this for?

If I dont learn a bit more then I am afraid that this will become a fad for me and I will give up but all of the advice on here seems to be a bit highbrow for me. Could someone point me to more idiot friendly forum please

    Hi Sarah,

you can set your step goal in garmin connect:
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/

There you can see your steps on the dashboard, click on the pencil of your daily step goal -> deactivate auto goal and set your value
    (same with the floors)

Also, there is a display number after the number of miles and before the time, I have no idea what this number is?

Where? (which watchface are you using and which device)

do you have a performer bundle?
then you have a HR belt to monitor your HR

I hope this was detailed enough... if not just ask again :)

    Greetings
    Sandra

    Daily Goal sorted thankyou

I have a Garmin Vivofit, and the unexplained button is between the mileage counter and the time.

I think it is a fitness band, could tell me how I should use it ( or tell me where to look it up )

I am aiming for 10,000 steps per day, and just about achieving it. Any other advice?

Thankyou so much for even reading , let alone replying, I feel happier already

    Sarah

I'd expect that's a Garmin HRM1 chest strap heart rate monitor.

I suppose that is the amount of total calories burned for the current day, including both active and resting calories.
