Absolutely raging , a year and a half ago when Garmin changed their connect website layout I lost all my training data. Last few weeks I was unable to upgrade my software for whatever reason and now my forerunner 310 has gone wrong. Again it had all my marathon training data which I’m gutted about losing. I will not be buying another Garmin for running again totally unreliable !!!!!!!

  • I'm sorry to hear that you have suffered a major loss of data - did you contact Garmin support to try and recover it. In the past I had a large quantity of data double up due to a technical issue and they were very helpful in removing the duplicates.

If you move from Garmin - whatever device you go to I would suggest that you don't put all your eggs in one basket but make sure you back up your data.

I automatically duplicate my stuff across to Runners world training hub, Strava and periodically download to a local backup device - having experienced loss of data with other manufacturers I am now super careful.

I doubt Garmin will much miss a customer who hadn't bought a new device since 2009.

Yes, smarter to keep spending money on things that don't work.

I can count on one hand the electronic devices I've owned that have still worked after seven years, especially devices that aren't user repairable.

Actually, at least as of the last time I turned it on a year or two ago, my old 310XT was one of them ...
