Too many intensity minutes.... (Vivoactive HR)

ON connect I am showing as having done 66,000 intensity minutes last week.

Clearly this is an insane error that I would like to correct but cannot find anyway of editing that number. Does anyone know of a way I can edit the minutes to zero or to match the previous week?

I have them same problem with my Fenix 3 HR, two random days with 60k + and 100k+ minutes. I'm hoping Garmin support will see this and provide guidance.
  • Mee too

having 65900+ Intensity minutes in Garmin Connect, while the watch (fenix3) reports 500 minutes. Anybody knows how to fix it?
  • 131,558 Intensity Minutes in one day

I registered 131,558 intensity minutes in one fairly inactive day. Not bad for a day with only 1440 minutes in it. It's bad enough that this device has a bug which has thrown my entire weekly stats off, but I don't see any way of manually correcting it.

    too many

Another one here - after jogging yesterday I had about 100 intensity minutes recorded for the week, left the device on charge for a while and now I have 131,068 minutes. Can't correct, seem stuck with it - only had the device 10 days, wondering if all its elements are as erratic as this....

We appreciate the discussion on this issue. We have seen the reports in the forums of excessive Intensity Minutes displaying in Garmin Connect and this has been escalated to the Garmin Connect teams for investigation and resolution.

We do apologize for any inconvenience in the mean time.

Happened to me also - but I know why

This happened to me as well with a Fenix 3. I wore my heart rate monitor during my run. When I finished I threw the HRM in my messenger bag. When I went to bed that night the HRM was still in range of my plugged in watch. Since the hrm contacts were still sweaty it was reading all night - so I got 8.5 hours of 150-160bpm activity while I was sleeping, which gave me a crazy calorie and intensity minute count split between yesterday and today. You can see the HR graph on the "Timeline". This is fine, I now know better and will be more careful with my HRM, but there needs to be a way to manually edit completed data or it kind of defeats the purpose.

+1 on this, my F3HR also managed to do 66000 minutes yesterday or today (not sure). I don't take it there's any way to edit?
v3.20, just before the new update was installed.
  • similar issue

I'm having a similar issue... Fenix3, not HR. Though not showing quite as many intensity minutes as others. I ended a run yesterday (pushing my IM from about 145 to 260…) and then it just kept slowly adding minutes, so later in the say it showed about 400. I was active most of the day, so thought the recent update started allowing active minutes based on movements (part of garmin's explanation is that it can apply IM based on movement), but they kept climbing overnight so Im now around 425…
@Garmin, it would be nice to see more detail as to when/how minutes are logged, and be able to manually correct them if we need to.

I am on my second Fenix 3, having owned a competitor in between. On my first one (Winter - Summer 2016), I had to work for "intensity minutes," having to walk at accelerated paces or play sports, run, etc. Now, while I'm not getting numbers in the thousands, I am seeing abnormally high numbers, especially for my activity level. I barely run or do anything active, but am always 4 - 5x over the goal. It is a very significant issue.

Check your Activity Class setting. The description in the docs does not make it obvious if the third column is daily or weekly so it's not obvious what class to use. If you chose the wrong class the IM count goes nuts. Turns out the hours listed in the table are per day.

When I selected Activity Class 5 my weekly count bounced around near 300. Reasonable numbers. I tried Activity Class 8 because the table does read like that makes sense. it counted over 1500 for the week. This week I'm trying AC 7. So far I'm at 481 minutes. Hilarious but not as bad as AC 8. Next week I'll try AC 6 and so on. I already know that 5 sort of works.
