I have a Garmin 810 which I have a memory card in. Until now it was fine. However, this weekend I have tried to put a new route on and it doesn't show on the device. I am doing exactly what I normally do. I have the file in .gpx format and I copy it to the 'New Files' folder. I unplug when it is safe to do so and look in my 'Routes' folder on the device but it isn't there. It doesn't show as a .fit file when I look in the 'Routes' folder when I plug back into the PC either. I've tried copying to the 'New Files' folder on both the device and the memory card. The last time I loaded a new route was just over a week ago and I don't know what could have happened between now and then. I am running the most up to date version of the software - could a new release have been the cause? Please help!
This happened for me. The root cause seemed to be an & character in either the start or destination point in the map. e.g. Horse & Hound Pub. Just write in the street address instead and all should be well. Posting to help the next guy, I realise the question is 3 years old.
