Garmin Connect TimeZone import\export data incorrect

Hi guys,

In Garmin Connect, User, Settings, Display Settings, Upload Time Zone, I've changed this to New Zealand time (GMT+12:00). I'm importing Fibit Weight via the FitBit Aria to MyFitNessPal which then syncs that to Garmin Connect. Both sites (FitBit & MyFitnessPal) have the same time zone set correctly at GMT +12. In MyFitNessPal data arrives on the correct day and time. But in Garmin the weight is for the previous day. I also export my Garmin steps to my company's wellness program and it is also displayed as the previous day. All websites have the correct time zone setting. But its like Garmin Connect ignores my time zone setting and send or receives data from and to external sites as GMT 0:00 time even though set at GMT+12:00. Why is this?

Formerly I had my step counts come from FitBit to my company's wellness site and it arrived correctly, so I know our company website is importing correctly, at least from FitbIt it does. As far as I can see all sites are ok but the common denominator for incorrect timezone, lack of conversion, is Garmin Connect. Is there another hidden time zone setting somewhere I don't know about?

Can someone please help \ give me some ideas of what else I can check or set or need to do?

Thank you in advance ;-)

Take care,

Magnus
  • Just seeing your report and confirming this is happening to me as well. I never noticed it until now (probably don't export often enough).

I see there is no response to your post, but did you ever hear back from anyone?

EDIT: for me it is only FIT files that are exported with GMT. TCX and GPX files are exported with the correct time zone.
