Hi! I was wearing Vivoactive all day, did a sync to GC. Lots of steps. Battery ran out, so I went to the FR630. When my FR630 syncs, it doesn't add to the step total of the day! I also changed the step tracker to the FR630. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You. I was planning on switching out one for another to get a combined step total for the day.

My understanding is that you can only have one device nominated in Garmin Connect as your activity tracker, which is solely responsible for counting your daily steps.
The only real good time to switch trackers is the first thing in the morning. The old result was:
let's say you did 5000 steps on tracker 1, then switched to tracker 2. GC would show 5000 steps until you got 5001 steps on tracker 2, and then GC would show the number from tracker 2.
I believe it's now changed so that:
let's say you did 5000 steps on tracker 1, then switch to tracker 2. GC would show 5000 steps until you sync tracker 2, and at that point, GC will only show the steps on tracker 2 (which could be less than the 5000 you had)
That's why you want to switch first thing in the day, when the count on both trackers is close to 0. Or you could wear both tracker 1 and tracker 2 the entire day, so the step could would be close on both of them.

I see, thank you. I am spoiled because I came from fitbit where you could sync any of their devices to their dashboard and it would just add them all together. i.e. If you used the surge for 500 steps and the battery died, you just simply put the zip on while the surge was charging and off you went! The 500 would already be on the dashboard, and then when you got 500 more from the zip, it would just sync from the zip and automatically add the 500 to total 1,000. I was really hoping that the garmin connect would be the same way. I really like the FR630 for running.
