Garmin and MFP is getting ridiculous

Garmin has had an issue all weekend with step data not appearing in weekly reports and leader boards. Now as of today my step data isn't being exported to myfitnesspal.

This could be from MFP's end but given recent history I doubt it.

It's a shame such great hardware is ruined by such software and customer support. If this end was even half decent Garmin would have driven Fitbit out of the market.

Yet more "Calories Remaining" bugs and failures

I agree ... the constant software problems basically "undo" the fact that the hardware is better.

Seems a shame, as it's really not hard to run and maintain a website, and about the most intelligent way Garmin could allocate its resources.

Instead, they just keep alienating their GarminConnect users ... i.e. most of their customer base.

I'm having, once again, Garmin/MFP issues -- my "calories remaining" yesterday shows -1531 ... which is the number of calories I consumed. That is to say it's giving me a daily calorie allocation of _zero_.

This is not the first time this has happened.

Refreshing and updating and re-synching has done nothing to fix it over the last 24 hours.
  • I moved from Fitbit to Garmin recently. The reason was Garmin watches are much better than Fitbit watches. The problem is now that I can't get a decent usage of the Garmin website or app. Every other day it's not syncing MFP calories or there are steps missing where it just won't sync my steps.

The hardware is fantastic but it's very much let down by the software on the server side. The watches are only as good as the data you can use and if you can't see it or sync it then what's the point?

I've owned and used TomTom and Fitbit fitness trackers. Their websites and apps were spot on, never failing or having problems. Now I've come to Garmin I absolutely love my Forerunner 235 but I am very upset with the extremely poor service on the data side.

Garmin need to take a serious look at their servers, website and app development. If they fail here, as they are currently doing, it won't be long before we as customers start moving to a more reliable service. There's no point trying to analyse my fitness on something that works every now and then. It's just a shame Garmin aren't showing an interest in this part of their business model as it will cost them in the long run and lose customer confidence.
  • Since I never see moderators responding in any way here, it means one of two things:

    1. Garmin doesn't care enough to look at their own customer forums.

    2. Garmin is so inept that they have no answers to the hundreds of issues being brought forth by their paying customers, despite the fact that Fitbit, TomTom, and other competitors somehow manage to keep their products running smoothly.

I'm glad I bought my watch at REI as I have a year to return it. I really want to hold onto it, but we'll see what happens in time.

Yeah, I just don't get it. Excellent features on hardware (some physical design issues) but the support software and response to customers is terrible.
