Can I get a total number of steps?

Is there some place within Connect where I can see the total number of steps I have recorded? So far the only thing I've been able to do is add up all previous months. It seems like this is a number that should be in the system somewhere, if they are awarding badges for meeting certain milestones. I want to see where I am without having to go back and add up all the previous X months.

Thanks for any pointers. I tried searching the forum, but if it's already discussed, I'm hitting the wrong keywords.

I can't find anything, unfortunately. Steps that are attributed to timed activity can be summed in a customised Progress Summary report, but not steps that are only recorded by 24×7 activity tracking.

I'm afraid there isn't any other way, and it is especially cumbersome if your Steps history goes further back that twelve months. Having something that will process the exported CSV files for consecutive twelve-month periods may make it slightly less effort, but that's about it as far as I can see.
  • With GC on the web, click on the "head and shoulders" on the left and then "view profile".

One of the items under "lifetime totals" is "steps.

Each Jan 1 I save that number off, so I can get steps for the current year quite easily.
  • yes, "lifetime totals" is nice for tracking numbers. I have a simple spread sheet that I track info for the current year (steps, distance, activities, etc), and for the current year, just c+p the current number and subtract the value from the end of the previous year. It's not automatic, but only takes a minute or two every once in a while.
(I find if I tell someone I did x million steps last year, they look puzzled, but if I add "which is y miles.." they understand. :) )

    Thanks!

Took me a few minutes to figure out why I can't see that at all in my profile, until I saw there's a checkbox on https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings/userprofile under Connect Stats for that to show.
