Fenix 3 will connect but won't sync

Hi,

I'm using a fenix 3 along with a nexus 6p and since the new connect software updated, I'm unable to get a sync between the devices. The two will connect (as I get connected/disconnected warnings and bluetooth status shows connected) however there are no live notifications or activity stats syncing.

So far I have removed connect from the 6p and reinstalled, cleared fenix 3 from BT and re-added unpaired and repaired the devices... Still no joy.

Anyone else experiencing anything similar?

Cheers,

FG.

I have a Vivosmart HR and since the Connect update last week I have not been able to sync through mobile - I have to plug it in to my desktop. I don't have an answer. For me, it recognizes device and says it is syncing but just stays in an endless sync and never completes, the bar doesn't move either. I'm starting to get ticked about it.
  • I have this issue intermittently. You can manually force a sync in the Bluetooth settings of the Fenix 3. I know this doesn't solve the original problem but it will help in the short run.

I have these two as well. Since getting my Nexus, the Fenix will not sync activity of any kind. I can pair the phone and watch. I still get text notifications on the watch. But it refuses to sync activity, even when manually initiated.

All software versions are up to date on both devices, and neither is running a beta or modified version of any software.

My fenix 3 also connects to my phone (Samsung S7) and used to sync no problem but it stopped on the 31st Jan. it will sync if I use a wired connection on my pc.
All my software is up to date and just had a Samsung software update tried calling the help line but didn't help, anyone else had this issue?
    Any solutions?

I've had this as well on pretty much all connect 4.2.x Android versions. For me the recent connect 4.3 solved the sync issues last week.

My brand new Fenix 3HR won't sync to Connect app on Android (Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X). Both devices are paired correctly, smartphone notifications work flawlessly. Synchronization process seem to be starting and finishing normally, but no data appears on Connect app. No steps/stairs, no activities, nothing.
Rather disappointing considering the watch was not cheap at all.
The watch has 4.90 version of software, Connect app installed yesterday from Play store, so it is the newest version.

I do have the same problem...

My fenix 3 HR is connected to my OnePlus 3T and seems to sync...
But after the sync no data of the day is viewable in garmin connect.

This has to be fixed soon!

I have a similar issue. I have a Fenix 3 HR Sapphire, so it has Wifi-too.
My system version is 4.90, I just installed the App on my PC (Windows) and Phone (Android) today.

I can sync settings, install software updates, connect to wifi, I have paired my the watch with my phone. But it just won't sync activities. Not over wifi (connects successfully, says sync done), not over bluetooth (also syncs successfully, but no activities appear in the phone app) and not over USB+Windows Garmin Express application. No activities in either of those apps or the web.

The only thing I can do is use it as a USB mass storage device and copy activity files manually.

[Solved] Update: I mounted the watch as a USB mass storage device and uploaded the first activity file manually. It appeared on the Garmin Connect website. Since then, wifi and bluetooth sync has worked. It appears that it needed that first manual sync.
