Edge Touring T-B-T Directions

I download a route straight from the Garmin Connect site (send to device). I get TBT directions with a nice big white arrow and a beeping sound before the turn, for some of a ride. I then just get a purple line with the instruction "continue on road". Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
