Cloning activities

Often my workouts are identical, e.g. hour of elliptical or a certain group of strength training exercises....is there a way to clone existing activities, and then just change the date? If not, then the Garmin team should enhance Connect to allow that.
  • Why? Is it really too much effort to upload an activity?
  • What exactly are you trying to do?

    Get your terminology correct and stop confusing others (and yourself, too), please. if you want to clone custom workouts, then say so. If you want to schedule the same custom workout for different days on the Calendar, that's a different task. Cloning activities (recorded by your wearable device, or added by manual data entry on your part) would be something else altogether.

    woah

    Hmmm, I didn't realize as a novice making my first post that I'd get such a warm welcome. Thanks for taking the trouble to answer, but maybe I'll wait until someone with some people skills arrives here or maybe never come back to the Garmin forum at all. I'm pretty sure this is not the first time you've had elicited such a response, if anything can be derived from your handle.

    Don't mind ASmugDill... he does help from time to time, but has a skill of "sounding offensive". I doubt he means to...but that is the way he writes, you get used to it.

    He does have a point however...
    Could you please specify what you are looking to do?
    This way we can help you.

    My guess is you want the following;

    (This is an example)
    You do a running workout 3 times a week (Mon, Wed, Fri), the workouts are the same and therefore "identical". Let's say that you hate wearing your watch and therefore wish to copy-paste your workout from Monday to Wednesday and Friday.

    So you have a Monday workout
    60:00 min
    Avg hr 145bpm
    Cal burn 500

    And you know that Wed & Fri workouts come close to the same, so you wish to copy Mondays workout "as is" to Wed & Fri.

    ::::
    Is this what you wish to do?

    @Paulseo

    Did you find it?

    I looked into this, and basically the only hthing (beond putting in a manual activity) is to
    go into the workout yu want to clone.
    Export to TCX
    Open in a TCX tool (google will find several)
    Change date in TCX tool
    Go into Garmin Connect -> activites and Import the "new" TCX

    so a bit of a bother...sorry.
