I have a Garmin 2597LMT. When exporting gpx file from MS Streets and trip 2013 I have a hard time uploading it to the Garmin.
Two things I have discovered is that the files need to be save on a local machine then drag and drop the files into the gpx directory, twice. The filenames have also got to be 9 digits or less in order for the unit to see them in apps.
What I am having a problem with now is that if my route overlaps coming and going, the unit will go haywire and not give me good directions. Is this because the pinpoints are not getting numbered correctly or is it that the unit can not distinguish between the point regardless. The other bad thing abou the unit is that if I am not within less than 20 feet of the pinpoint marker, I will generally get a bad direction go back till I do hit the point exactly.
Is there a better unit that will behave where I can plan a ride and not get double tracked. I am using it to plan routes for my motorcycle group and touching the display during the trip is not an option all the time.
