Determining Fitness Level

Hi all,

I'm not new to fitness but I am new to the concept of Garmin's Fitness Level. It appears this can be manually set, and I'm guessing is used in algorithms to determine calorie burn, training effect, etc.

It appears this number is determined by VO2 max, which is calculated by Garmin when you run or road bike, is this correct?

I am neither a runner or road biker. I get my cardio from HIIT and Mountain Biking (which typically has lower speeds than roadies).

So is there a way for me to figure out what my fitness level is to input into Garmin Connect?

Thanks for any help!
