Incorrect Pool Swim Time of Day

Hi Everyone,

At the end of March in the UK we put our clocks forward an hour to enter British Summer Time and Ive noticed that whenever I swim now (which obviously is a non-GPS) activity, it always says the time is out by one hour. (ie if I swim at 6:00 am it says 5 a.m). I also know if I sync an activity from Training Peaks such as when I do a Trainer Road workout that syncs auto to Training Peaks the time is correct at this point but then when I sync from Training Peaks to Garmin via Tapiriik I am getting the same issue.

Does anyone have a solution or know when the problem will be corrected. Not sure if it is related to BST or not?

Cheers,

Tom
  • I would be interested in knowing that too. I find it a major PITA that all my indoor workouts are out by an hour. You would have thought having a time on the watch it could just use that!
  • Outdoor activities use the GPS to confirm the right timezone to apply to the activity. Indoor activities can't, and oddly don't use the devices current timezone (you'd think that would be the default).

In connect.garmin.com, go to the head & shoulders icon on the left hand bar, then settings. Under "Display Preferences", the second option is the one you're after, "Upload Time Zone" for any future activities (doesn't affect past activities) that get uploaded and don't have GPS data included in them.
  • Thanks Sheep,

I checked the timezone there and mine is GMT. There isn't a British Summer Time option so I guess I would have to use GMT +1:00 Central European Time?
