Where did Reports go?

Under the old interface, I could set a beginning and ending date and Garmin Connect would give me the totals for the following fields: Total Time, Distance, Avg Speed, Avg HR, Avg Time and Total Caories burned for the requested time period.

How does one do that in the new Connect Interface?

Many thanks.

What happens when you visit the URL https://connect.garmin.com/modern/reports ?

This worked, but the link in the next post with report instead of reports did not. Button for progress summary still missing from reports page.
Such smooth devices and such a failure on the web portal ...

    Regards, Robert

Really!! Their software is definitely the weak link. Maybe they think they can tout their hardware and people won't notice until after the sale is made. I guess its working, but I have seen hardware reviews where the device is downgraded because of the software. OTOH, from what I've read, other companies have software issues too. Don't know why software takes a back seat. It can be done. When I first got an edge about 9 years ago, there was no GC and Garmin used third party software called Motion Based. It was far superior to GC.
  • Progress Summary

Progress summary is definitely missing from reports on my laptop using Firefox - the browser I use most of the time. Checked with Opera and Progress Summary showed up at the usual place at the bottom of the list and I could check my mileage for the last 365 days, this calendar year, get summary by month etc. and all the usual stuff.

So how come it is not showing up in Firefox?
    Cheers, John.

Update: On my machine the Progress Summary is present and fully functional with both Internet Explorer and Opera.

Tried clearing the Firefox cache of all pages with connect.garmin and reloading the page fresh - the Progress Summary was still missing from the reports page. Really thought it must be a problem with the cache - any thoughts?

"progress summary" button present in Chrome, not Firefox. Weird

So, it works in Internet Explorer, Opera, Chrome and Safari (for Windows and OS X), as well as Safari, Chrome and Firefox on the iPad. How can anyone blame Garmin for it not showing in whoever's Firefox, then? For all we know, that version of Firefox broke something that should just work by technical standards. Whether the individual user is denied access to a capability and frustrated, because of his/her choice of browser, is not the measure of whether Garmin has done the right thing in its application software, so don't be so quick to assign blame just because someone is unhappy. Nobody is offered or owed any guarantees that everything in his/her IT landscape is perfectly interoperable, especially when there isn't a single party responsible for all the components or the individual user's overall satisfaction.

Maybe this is not a Garmin problem, but there are plenty of other issues with GC. The problem referred to by Robert (post #10) is just one of them

Possibly if a browser that GC doesn't work with is popular enough that multiple customers are reporting a problem using GC with it, it would be in Garmin's interest to take all reasonable steps to ensure that their software works with said browser - regardless of who is at fault - in the interests of retaining aforementioned customers, if nothing else.

I think the point is that there are constantly issues with GC, so at some point users get frustrated. At least that's the case for me ...

And given the past experience with GC, it is much more likely that something broke in GC than that something broke in Firefox. And in any case, as provider of a web page, you just have to to deal with inconsistencies between the browsers and different interpretations of web standards. If you look at statistics, Firefox is the #2 most-widely used browser, after Chrome. And the only one of any of the common browsers that does not come pre-installed on any kind of device, which speaks for its popularity.

    Reports Are Gone

I too loved the ability to use the Classic Reports. Even under the modern look (before they went away), you can't do multiple selections (i.e. Road Bike & Miles This Year). Please bring the classic reporting tool back!

You actually can get road bike and miles this year: click on the the word REPORTS on any report on your dashboard and then look for Summary Progress at the bottom of the list on the left. You can then select This year and Road bike and get your desired report.
