VIVOSMART - DISPLAY - dimming/narrowing

I purchased my VivoSmart on January 29, 2016. For the past week (first week of April 2016), I've noticed the display screen narrowing and dimming.
I returned to where I purchased the product and the retail staff expressed that many customers have been complaining of the same problem.
What is the solution?

  • You're not alone. There are some long threads about your issue in the vivosmart sub-forum. Look for the "Vivosmart losing pixels on display" thread. There are also others.

    Short answer, there is none. Its a known defect in the vivosmart. Either resign yourself to exchanging for a new unit every few months or ask garmin for an exchange for a different model such as the vivosmart hr or the vivoactive.

    Had the same problem, sent it in and got a new one in the mail a week later. Sucks but maybe they will figure it out.
    They pay for shipping so it is what it is.

    They should agree to send new one before you send old one back.
  • It could be a struggle to get them to pay for shipping - particularly if it's the first time.
