Importing non-Garmin TCX files into Connect

Currently I am using another brand of exercise tracker, but also am using a Garmin VivoSmart HR. My question is that when I enter the information on my exercise activities into My Fitness Pal, they do in fact import over to Garmin connect, but are very basic. I tried to import an exported TCX file into GC, but it failed, however the same file will import into SportTracks, including the map, and route that I took. Is this an anolomy, or is Garmin' interpretation of the TCX standard different? I would truly like to for the time being, be able to import all of my information into GC, and perhaps if I could see what the routes, and other data actually looks like, it might convince me to go completely Garmin in the future.
Input?
Thanks

I have the same issue. What I do is export the gpx file from SportTracks and manually upload to GC. It works.
  • Odd - I wonder if it is an issue with the software you're exporting from. I exported both .FIT and .TCX files from Runmeter (iOS running app), and Garmin Connect digested them perfectly, including GPS map data.
  • Probably a Polar Thing

I am thinking that it is the way in which Polar exports the TCX file, and it isn't completely in line with the "standard". I know I had no problems uploading a file exported from Movescount (Suunto), along with the fact that Polar doesn't allow imports of any files into their web page (Polar Flow). I guess it's time to look into a Garmin device. *sigh*
