These things are happening a little too often though. If it weren't for the fact that I use several garmin devices and sensors for triathlon, i would jump ship and try some other company

Actually, im going to spend today looking into other brands, garmin connect gets more bloated and buggy with every realease

Good luck, this is just a server issue and being that it's a weekend it makes things tough. The app on s pretty much free so that's also the main reason, if you charged a fee for it then it'll be more stable, but I can't complain since it's free, I can always sync it to my computer in the mean time

Yes, the app is free, and not useable for other than people own a Garmin product (or more). And those products are not free.

    ^This.
New features are limited to new devices.
The cost of those features is paid for directly by sales of the only devices that have access to them.
Even though older devices are capable of working with the new features, they don't get access to new features so you'll buy something new and pay for the new features.

cant sync after my run - guess it might be linked to this issue? Getting bit fed up with Garmin I have to say...might be time to dump.

Got my Vivosmart HR on Friday.
I really like it, but I'm surprised to see, that the garmin app relies so heavily on a server connection.
It should sync with the HR so I can see the stats and upload those later.
Instead, the app showed an issue while syncing with my HR.
I unpaired and tried to pair it again, app showed an issue while HR said it was ok.
I then reinstalled the app and only then I saw there's an issue with the server when it wouldn't let me sign in.
It could have told me that there's an issue with the server connection instead of the HR :(

Also I got my VSHR on Friday and the way of locally storing data with later upload (on PC via Express or Phone via Mobile Connect) was also my expectation.

This totally cloud based app modell has to much weak points without being able to view the data locally.

    Hiya,

Are you able to sync with your computer as Garmin Connect seems to be down on all formats at the moment?
  • Isnt it amazing that the busiest day of the week for Garming there seems to be no one on duty to update the UK status page? C'mon Garmin give us an update on the Facebook page or something!

Pretty much sums up my day. What they now claim is maintenance, was showing to me as a pairing/log in issue. Ended up uninstalling Garmin Connect and having to reinstall and reconfigure the app.

I was shocked to learn that this app is so server reliant and that it is not more local.

With no warning of "maintenance", I call their lack of customer care, shoddy.
