No sleep data upon daylight saving changeover

We just went off daylight saving in (most States and Territories – specifically, five out of eight – of) Australia overnight. In my case, my local clock time went from Australian Eastern Daylight Time (GMT+11) to Australian Eastern Standard Time (GMT+10) at 02:00 AEST.

I was curious how my watch and Garmin Connect would deal with it, so I made sure I wore my Forerunner 235 to bed, checked that it was working, and went to sleep before the switchover.

  • I woke up with my FR235 displaying the correct clock time. ✔
    ·
  • Curiously, upon successful completion of syncing my watch with Garmin Connect Mobile (on iOS, if it matters) – evidenced by the updated step count showing in Garmin Connect online – no sleep (levels or movement) data for today is present. Widgets and reports in Garmin Connect online maintain, “No sleep data, yet.” ✘
    ·
  • I then manually edited my sleep time for today to 01:45–07:10 in the Sleep widget. The Total Sleep is now showing as 5:25 hrs, but the main part of the widget continues to advise, “No sleep data, yet.” That is inconsistent with other days for which I manually entered/edited my sleep time. ✘

  • I synced my watch again, this time using the USB cable/clip with Garmin Express on my Mac. It made no difference.
  • I had a similar problem - I'm in NZ but identical issue in terms of daylight savings changeover and timing - and my watch correctly adjusted for the time change like yours.

Sleep on the Saturday night (2/4) stops at 23:59 (even a manual over-ride doesn't change this).

Sleep on the Friday night was correctly recorded, but both the Friday and Saturday night sleeps are non-existent for the purposes of calculating a 7 day average.

Looks like some sort of a software glitch in terms of how it deals with that extra hour of sleep with daylight savings ending which has thrown out some related calculations.
