Help decyphering Garmin Connect

My Son has lost his Vivofit 2, and I thought that by using Garmin Connect data to help me work out if it is somewhere in our house.

The Garmin Connect program shows that it was Synced today at 12:26am, but there has been no Activities recorded for 12 days (since he lost it).

My question is:

Is the Vivofit within range of the Bluetooth dongle which is connected to my Computer, or is it out of range (which is why no "Activity" is being recorded)?

It sounds like the VVF is within range, and syncing every night a bit after midnight (which is by design to finish off the previous day), but it's not moving at all, so you see no data. Sounds like it's with 20-30 feet of your PC and behind or under something.

Thanks for that. I thought as much, but didn't want to waste our time if I wasn't right.
