I've had my VivoSmart Hr for just about 3 days. At first it was fine. But on the second day, mid day, it seemed to stop recording flights of stairs. On the same day, it was giving me move reminders as I was walking around the classroom. Yesterday I spent the day watching movies and crocheting, and it gave me no move reminders at all. It is not recording any stairs still (it picked up 1 of the 5 times I went up and down the stairs this morning), and now it is not even synching sleep data. What's up? Will charging or restarting help, do you think?
Don't know about floors (my watch doesn't support them), but I can explain the "move" to you.
"Move" is triggered when you haven't "walked enough" in the past hour, so even if you are doing some walking, you'll still get it.
And another thing with steps, is that in order for them to count, you need to do at least 10 at a time (those 10 will then be counted). This is to help in rejecting arm movements as steps (the watch only knows what it sees on your wrist).
But this also explains your knitting thing, as your wrist actions then are enough that the watch sees them as valid steps. (it would probably be the same with and brand of wrist based tracker). Look at your step count before you start knitting, and then when you're done, and likely it went up a good bit.
