Help with custom stride length and vivosmart hr

Former Member

Hello All,

I've got a garmin vivosmart hr and have been using it with the garmin connect. I have set up a custom stride length for running, and have synced garmin connect with the vivo smart hr many times. Yet, when recording a run from the vivosmart hr, it is using a stride length of less than 3 ft. (most runners have a stride length closer to their height; I have no idea why the stride length would default so low). How can I get the vivosmart hr to use the stride length I entered into the garmin connect ap? Otherwise I love the vivosmart hr and the ap BTW.

Kind regards,

Adam

    Solved

    Hello all,

I tried to apply the same custom stride length to "walking" and it worked while recording a run. I'm not sure whey, but apparently the "run" feature uses the custom stride length from the "walk." I don't know if the opposite is true, but it seems a simple fix. Perhaps the variables are switched in the programming? Perhaps an easy fix in the next update Garmin?

    Thanks and kind regards,

    Adam
