Is it possible to search people in our contacts list or via other social media platforms? I'm not aware if any of my friends are currently using garmin products - but it would nice to connect with them if they were. Is my only option to go through everyone I know and ask them if they're using garmin connect?
I agree. Most other networks will link to other networks I'm on and find my friends/connections that are also users. For example, MyFitnessPal will look for users in my Facebook friends. Wish Garmin did the same, because I know a handful of people that I know have Garmin wearables but for the life of me will not show up in a search.
On top of that, the search just plain sucks. Why not give us multiple search fields, so we can search a name in addition to narrowing it down to a location or distance. I try to search for a person name and city name and get no results most of the time.

It would be great that the connect search capabilities were better.
But hold on tight. It won't be long before some "master or senior" member comes and tell us that this isn't the appropriate platform to ask for that kind of stuff and that garmin has no obligation whatsoever to read nor respond to our needs expressed in THEIR forum. So Sad.

Nice to see that...though it only brought up one result which tells me not enough people know about it and/or have their Connect and FB profiles connected to turn up in the search. Does Garmin have anything planned to encourage people to connect their accounts or make this feature more visible (for example by including it in the web interface)?
I guess I doubled my connections...because I had one and now I have two.

There was an announcement in the Garmin Connect Mobile update when this feature was brought in, but this feature is currently not in Garmin Connect online. As of right now, we have not seen a plan for this to be added to the online platform in the near term (but there is the potential for future development). We welcome the feedback and discussion on the forums and provide that feedback/suggestions to the development teams.
We would also recommend users that would like to see this feature added to the online platform to submit a request to the Garmin Ideas Portal. This website is where users can provide direct feedback and feature suggestions to the developers. All submissions are evaluated by the engineering teams and may be used in future updates.

The Search function (Find people) in Garmin connect is not working correctly.
Any time I tried to search my friends(who have Garmin device), entering their lastname or their username (at connect.garmin.com),
the result was the same:
"We didn't find any matches for your search".
Not perfect, but this works for me. You have to know the exact user name, a general idea of where their activities occur, and the user needs to have their activity privacy set to "everyone."
