Recover .fit from .bak file

Edge 810, latest software

Dear all,

By accident I have discarded a ride. This was in the middle of my ride (I paused it), so I recorded the rest of the ride as a new ride.
Once home, I searched for deleted files on the Garmin. I did not find a deleted .fit file, but I did find a deleted .bak file with a time-stamp corresponding to the beginning of the discarded ride. It is a bout 200 kb in size, so I think this file might contain the info I am looking for.

Is there anybody who knows how to recover the data?
I tried to change the .bak in .fit, but this did not work...

Many thanks,
Stef

    Recover .fit from .bak file

I had the same problem, and I can see the .bak file in my Garmin folder. I've had a phone conversation with a Garmin software support tech. who indicated that there is no way to convert the file to a .fit file. He agreed to accept the .bak file as an attachment and have his software team look it over. Doesn't seem like there's much hope.
